Sushi Sarang
Swansea’s Far Eastern food scene has just taken
another huge leap forward in a quiet side street minutes
from the city centre.
Sushi Sarang is sleek, contemporary, and Zen put into
practice; even so, it has a personable and cozy feel. This
has to be the place to visit for Swansea’s cosmopolitan
and discerning crowd – those who really know where
style can be found will love Sushi Sarang.

The restaurant had been described as ‘religiously traditional’ – and this is probably the
best compliment that could be paid to the chefs,
whose painstaking work preparing the fi nest sashimi
really is fascinating to watch. The chefs have kept
the recipes true to their origins: Hotate Bata (grilled
scallops in butter), Nama Gaki (fresh raw oysters),
and Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) are just some of
the appetisers, which carry a great range of vegetarian
options.
Sashimi is of course a core part of the menu, including mackerel, surf clam, turbot, tuna, seabass, and grey mullet, while for those less inclined towards raw fish, there are plenty of rice and noodle dishes to choose from. This includes Korean dishes such as the fabulous Bibimbab – rice with vegetables, fried egg and minced beef served in a hot stone bowl. Every element of a beautiful eating experience has been thought of here, from the engraved metal chopsticks to the beautifully ornate chinaware.

There are few places where it can
be said that as much thought and
passion goes into the drinks as
the food. Forget resorting to a
lemonade because there are no
other soft drinks to choose from.
The in house mixologist will
suggest and create a delicious ‘mocktail’ for those who are
driving and of course exotic
cocktails. Sushi Sarang steps
beyond the norm and raises the
game.
