The Windsor Lodge

The Windsor Lodge is a small family hotel that is undeniably individual. The building is 200 years old, grade II listed and is a rare gem. Although centrally located, just a minute's stroll from the city centre, the georgian building has an air of peace and tranquillity, an echo of the days when it was a country house, with internal decoration that is perfectly in tune with a building of its age and style.

Contrary to popular belief,Windsor Lodge Hotel has definitely not become a Buddhist centre! Recently
bought by Shelley and under the guidance and management of Simon, both the hotel and restaurant are
very much alive and well. The restaurant retains elegance and style with crisp linen tablecloths,
attentive staff and a high quality service. This fine dining experience is relaxed, warm and welcoming. What about the food? A full a la carte menu has been created with the freshest of Welsh produce available and cooked by a chef who has been awarded the AA rosette not merely once. Head chef Katrina can lay claim to the fact that she has achieved an AA Rosette every single year since 1993.This is bound to show though for those who dine here. The roasted tomato soup – that hasn’t strayed too far from its rustic ingredients – is full and richly flavoured, neither too watery or overly creamy…perfect.
